IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG), one of the world's leading hotel companies, has announced the appointment of George Vlachopoulos as General Manager for Six Senses La Sagesse located in Grenada in the Caribbean.

In his new role, Vlachopoulos is responsible for overseeing all aspects of Six Senses' first North American property, as part of IHG's luxury & lifestyle portfolio. Located on Grenada's southeastern coast, the award-winning cliffside resort spans 38 acres, set between the ocean and a powder-sand bay, and includes 56 spacious pool suites and 15 private villas, all designed around sustainability and wellness. In addition to the property's accommodations, Vlachopoulos will manage the resort's offerings including four restaurants and destination dining; Six Senses Spa, Biohack Recovery Lounge, Earth Lab, and Alchemy Bar; outdoor pools and waterfront center; Grow With Six Senses, including The Nest and Teen's Lounge; private meetings and events, and more. With over two decades of hospitality industry expertise, Vlachopoulos leads a dedicated team of 150 hosts, ensuring the resort delivers the brand's signature high-touch, purpose-driven guest experience in a setting that blends a back-to-nature feel with heartfelt hospitality.

"George brings a proven track record of excellence in hospitality, hands-on leadership, deep Caribbean experience, and global industry expertise," says Raymond Vermolen, Regional Vice President of Operations - East, IHG Hotels & Resorts. "He is an exceptional addition to the Six Senses La Sagesse team."

Vlachopoulos is an award-winning hotelier with robust experience leading iconic hotels, resorts, and villas across the Caribbean, Europe, and Southeast Asia. His results-driven approach spans operations management, strategic communication, stakeholder engagement, and culture cultivation, consistently surpassing set business goals. Most recently, he served as General Manager of Park Hyatt St. Kitts, managing the island's premier resort and driving profitability across 126 rooms and suites, multiple F&B outlets, and over 7,000 square feet of event space.

"Six Senses has long set the benchmark for purpose-led hospitality. La Sagesse is an extraordinary canvas-nature, craft, and community," says Vlachopoulos. "My focus is to listen, empower our team, and elevate what guests already love here in Grenada, so every stay feels deeply personal and quietly transformational."

Prior to his tenure at Park Hyatt St. Kitts, Vlachopoulos was Managing Director at Malliouhana Resort and Spa in Anguilla and a multi-property General Manager for Auberge Resorts Collection, tasked with identifying growth opportunities for properties in need of strategic leadership and spearheading a $35M brand conversion and repositioning. Under his purview, Malliouhana delivered +28% GOP growth year-over-year, elevated guest satisfaction by 11 points, and boosted its Net Promoter Score from #18 in the portfolio to #1 in under two years. His career has also included General Manager positions at Radisson Blue Park and Aqua Blu Boutique Hotel + Spa in Greece, leadership roles at Phulay Bay, Thailand (A Ritz-Carlton Reserve), Nihi Sumba Island, Indonesia and more.

Vlachopoulos is a Swiss-educated hotelier (HND, IHTTI Neuchâtel), with a BA (Hons) in Hospitality Business Management and a full-scholarship MA (Hons) in International Hospitality Management from the University of Birmingham, plus executive education through Cornell's General Managers Program (GMP).
