OCTOBER 1, 2008. The Olympia Group has unveiled preliminary plans for Oxford Highlands Resort- Spa-Casino. Executive architect, Peter Wilday, of Reno, Nevada, explained that the four-season facility was designed to capture the feel of a traditional New England village center, with a variety of architectural features such as turrets, roof treatments and storefronts characteristic of buildings in Maine.

"When I was young I was lucky enough to spend my summers on Lake Maranacook so I feel a deep connection to Maine," said Wilday.

The project will include a 300 room hotel, a large conference center, a spacious casino featuring up to 1,500 slot machines, a wide variety of table games, fine and casual dining options, a spa, indoor and outdoor pools, parking for guests and accommodations for snowmobiles, cross country skiing and numerous other year round amenities.
