Rosewood Little Dix Bay Introduces Poolates
Offers $500 Air Taxi Credit for New Easy Resort Arrival
BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS, October 21, 2008. Perched on a stunning seaside cliff at one of the Caribbean's most celebrated luxury resorts, Sense, A Rosewood SpaTM at Little Dix Bay, debuts a new signature wellness activity, PoolatesTM, an innovative and highly soothing exercise that combines the flexibility and core-strengthening principles of Pilates with the joint-friendly benefits of water. To facilitate enjoyment of this new activity, Little Dix Bay is offering an air credit of $500 per room through February 12, 2009 for its new air taxi service from St. Thomas, USVI to/from Virgin Gorda, BVI when guests book a minimum five-night stay in an Ocean Cottage or higher room category. Guests will enjoy the convenience of a quick 16-minute air ride followed by a complimentary land transfer to the resort.
Once at the resort, guests can enjoy PoolatesTM, which uses the buoyancy, resistance, and gentle movement of water to strengthen muscles. PoolatesTM works to enhance flexibility and posture while completely relaxing both the inner and outer being. Classes will be taught in the resort's oceanside swimming pool against the gorgeous backdrop of the resort's half-mile crescent-shaped beach. Private sessions are also available in the swimming pools of those guests staying in the resort's luxury villas.
The Spa's newest treatment complements the extensive menu of indigenously focused, therapeutic practices and progressive concepts of beauty and well-being. With a focus on local ingredients and treatments, Sense Spa strives to enhance the guest experience with a program not found in other locations. Hikes, nature walks, and other eco-educational programs complement spa treatments, yoga classes, and traditional Pilates mat sessions. Spa treatments take place in individual cottages, each with a window to allow the healthful ocean breezes to join the scents of the oils, herbs and flowers used; treatments are available for both individuals and couples. A just-added Sense SpaTM dining menu features dishes also aimed at helping guests maintain optimal health, including such fresh creations as Sense Waldorf Salad, Ceviche of Tropical Fruits and Vegetables and Tandoori Salmon.
"Sense is all about honoring local traditions in health and healing," said Glen Ross, spa director. "The introduction of PoolatesTM, along with our new spa dining cuisine, successfully fuses traditional modalities and tastes with the more modern elements of well-being."
PoolatesTM classes will be taught along with mat Pilates, gentle and power yoga, couples and kids' yoga, dance classes, meditation, guided nature trail hikes and beach fitness. Group PoolatesTM classes are $20 per person + 15% service charge. Private classes are $85 per person + 15% service charge.
