Holiday Inn San Diego Takes Pride in Pet-friendly Certification

. October 27, 2008

SAN DIEGO, CA, October 27, 2008. Holiday Inn San Diego on the Bay, a leader of San Diego pet-friendly hotels, welcomes guests and their four-legged family members to a full-service waterfront hotel.

According to the Travel Industry Association, 14 percent of all U.S. adults (29.1 million) say they have traveled with a pet on a trip of 50 miles or more, one-way, away from home in the past three decades.

Holiday Inn San Diego on the Bay is taking measures to accommodate this rapidly-growing market. As a proud member of Pets Can Stay(TM), the national certifying organization setting the standard for pet-friendly accommodations, this downtown San Diego hotel maintains strict policies and guidelines to ensure a pleasant stay for pets and their owners as well as other hotel guests.

'With our location on the Bay Front, there are great areas for our guests to walk or run with their dogs during their stay. Additionally, we are one of the few downtown locations that offer grassy areas on property for the pets to explore,' said Benita Skalada, Director of Sales and Marketing. 'With perfect weather year round, San Diego and the Holiday Inn on the Bay is an ideal destination for animal lovers!'

Some but not all of the San Diego hotel's guidelines include: non-smoking pet-designated room options, fair kenneling policies, a safe environment and no additional fees other than costs for extra cleaning and maintenance. This hotel in San Diego accommodates pets up to 60 pounds and requires a $100 deposit and a $25 per night non-refundable fee. Owners may keep up to two pets per room per deposit, but may not leave their pet unattended in guest rooms.
