Vail Resorts Selects Agilysys Inventory and Procurement Solution
Premier Resort Implements Stratton Warren System 3.0
CLEVELAND, OH, October 28, 2008. Agilysys, Inc. (Nasdaq: AGYS), a leading provider of innovative IT solutions, including specifically-designed hospitality software solutions, announced today that Vail Resorts, Inc. in Broomfield, Colo. has implemented the latest version of the Stratton Warren System (SWS) inventory and procurement solution to enhance efficiency and streamline operations. Vail Resorts owns and manages some of the most luxurious hotel properties in the world, including properties in Lake Tahoe, Calif; Aspen, Beaver Creek, Breckenridge, Keystone and Vail, Colo.; Santa Fe, N.M.; Jackson Hole, Wyo.; and St. Lucia in the West Indies.
Recognized as the hospitality industry's leading inventory and procurement system, the SWS solution automates the entire procurement process - from food and beverage to general property materials - and provides a fast and measurable return on investment by reducing labor costs and waste and eliminating time-consuming and error-prone paper documents. With SWS, tasks that once took hours or days can be completed with the click of a mouse, enabling buyers to focus on the strategic elements of the purchasing process.
"We have used the SWS solution by Agilysys for years and wanted to take advantage of the latest technology," said Sara Glinatsis, director of corporate applications at Vail Resorts. "We especially appreciated the centralized item master functionality and the system's scalability, which enables us to bring on more Vail Resort properties and streamline operations throughout our business."
Other features of SWS 3.0 include: point-and-click functionality; the ability to route purchase requisitions for approval via e-mail or personal digital assistant (PDA); enhanced browser capabilities; and multiple par level functionality that enables properties to establish inventory levels based on seasons, days of the week or special events.
"Now more than ever, properties need solutions that enable them to make more intelligent purchasing decisions and work more efficiently," said Tina Stehle, senior vice president and general manager of Agilysys Hospitality Solutions. "The latest version of the Stratton Warren System not only will provide Vail Resorts with the technology it needs to obtain the most favorable prices, but also will help ensure the company's competitiveness by improving financial controls, conserving resources and reducing costs, both in the short-term and over time."
