Leading Spas Announced for 2006
OCTOBER 17, 2006. The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. has just released the list of hotels that have qualified as Leading Spas for 2006.
"Of the 106 hotels that applied for certification for 2006, 85 passed the rigorous, anonymous inspection process and have been accorded Leading Spa status for the coming year," said Paul McManus, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd.
"We are very proud of this initiative which was launched just last November at the Annual Convention of The Leading Hotels of the World in Palm Beach, Florida," he continued. "There has been an extraordinary amount of interest expressed in Leading Spas by the traveling public and the hotels, as well as hotels and resorts that are not among our members."
Marshall Calder, Senior Vice President, Marketing, added, "Our Marketing Services department is currently developing attractive new products and programs to promote the services of the Leading Spas. Among these are Leading Spa Weekend, Leading Spa for Two, and Leading Swing and Spa - a collection of golf and spa packages."
Among the hotels to make the list for 2006 are Hotel Martinez in Cannes and Le Meurice in Paris, Mont Cervin Palace in Zermatt, Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa in Dubai, and The Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables. (See below for a full list of Leading Spas for 2006)
As the world's foremost authority for grading and inspecting hotels, The Leading Hotels of the World, Ltd. established the Leading Spas designation as the benchmark for global luxury standards in the spa and hospitality industries.
To achieve this prestigious certification, a hotel's spa facilities and services must pass a stringent inspection process that encompasses more than 200 criteria. Each Leading Spa must qualify annually to retain its accreditation.
