Atlantic Hotel Implements MICROS OPERA
First Small Luxury Hotels of the World property in Europe to install two-way interface
LONDON, UK, December 8, 2008 MICROS-Fidelio UK Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of MICROS Systems, Inc. (Nasdaq: MCRS), a leading provider of information technology solutions for the hospitality and retail industries, is pleased to announce that The Atlantic Hotel is the first Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) property in Europe to deploy MICROS's OPERA Xpress Property Management System (PMS).
The Atlantic Hotel, one of Jersey's finest luxury hotels which features breathtaking ocean views and a Michelin starred restaurant, required a PMS to provide increased functionality, strong flexibility, and a tangible return on investment. In order to increase occupancy and revenue and reduce labor costs, The Atlantic Hotel also required a direct interface to Small Luxury Hotels of the World's proprietary Central Reservations System. With the implementation of OPERA Xpress, The Atlantic Hotel benefits from the automation of many of its former manual and time-consuming tasks, resulting in increased distribution channel traffic as well as profitability.
"We strive to offer the very best service to all our guests," stated Patrick Burke, Managing Director of The Atlantic Hotel. "MICROS OPERA Xpress, with its interface to our CRS, has increased our occupancy from the day it was installed. Our guests immediately benefited from instant access to the hotel's real-time availability."
"As a luxury hotel brand, we are always searching for technological advancements that improve the operational efficiency of our member hotels," stated Paul Kerr, Chief Executive Officer of Small Luxury Hotels of the World. "MICROS OPERA Xpress is one such example, and we are delighted that The Atlantic Hotel is the first Small Luxury Hotels of the World property in Europe to install the system. The benefits are clearly far-reaching and we will highly recommend OPERA Xpress to all of our member hotels."
"We are delighted to partner with Small Hotels of the World," stated Peter Edwards, Managing Director, MICROS-Fidelio UK. "The implementation of OPERA Xpress at The Atlantic Hotel was a great success and we look forward to deploying OPERA Xpress to other members of the Small Luxury Hotels of the World group."
