NORTH CONWAY, NH, February 5, 2009 - While Mt Washington Valley's 13 ski resorts and XC centers fill the calendar of events with on snow activities, two events stand out as features of the Mt Washington Valley Winter Carnival, 2009. Plan your White Mountains getaways around these events where girls twirl in princess fantasy and everyone in the whole family enjoys both hot and chilly chili.

February 21, 2009: 3rd Annual Snow Princess Fantasy...a whimsical affair: Part of the Mt Washington Valley Winter Carnival Celebration, here is your child's chance to dress in her princess-best while she enjoys Puddin' Pie Puppet Productions' The Mouse and the Magic Wand sponsored by MWV Children's Museum and is declared an official snow princess as she twirls in her fanciest dress. It all takes place at the North Conway Grand Hotel at either noon - 2:00pm or 3:30-5:30pm.

Tickets are $20, and include a snow princess registration fee and two tickets to the event. Additional tickets are $8.00 each. Pre-registration is strictly required with a portion of the proceeds supporting the "Healthy Smiles" children's dental program at the White Mountain Community Health Center. New this year, the Mt Washington Valley Chamber of Commerce will offer the Snow Princess Fantasy boutique where any princess may purchase her dress and accessories at very reasonable prices. Donations have been made so girls of any income level will have the opportunity to have their dream gown. Additionally, The Cut Off Salon and Day Spa will offer free snow princess up-do's mini make up and nail polished services for registered snow princesses on the day of the event, but space is limited. It will be a time of fantasy for children who dream of queens and princesses and love to dress up, and a wonderful photo opportunity for parents.

February 28, 2009: 6th Annual Chilly Chili Cookoff: Don't miss the Valley's favorite winter tasting event. Another Mt Washington Valley Winter Carnival Event, this exciting chili tasting event will be held at Flatbread Company at Easter Slope Inn from 11:00am to 2:00pm. The Chilly Chili Cook-Off will feature entries in two divisions: Restaurant and "Good Old Home Cooking" chefs. Participants will be judged on five key chili features including the aroma, consistency, color, aftertaste and overall flavor. The cook-off will feature local celebrity judges and live music, yet the people will make their choices as they purchase tasting tickets and cool off with some great chili. Be sure to come and vote for your favorite chili.
