Renaissance Pittsburgh Names Watson F&B Director
FEBRUARY 27, 2009 - AAA Four Diamond Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel has named Matthew Watson to lead its Food and Beverage operations.
Watson, a native of eastern Pennsylvania, will oversee operations for Opus, the hotel's signature restaurant, The Bridge bar and the lobby martini bar.
Watson brings nearly a decade of experience in the hospitality industry to his new post. He has served on the leadership team of some of Pittsburgh's most prestigious hotels, including the Omni William Penn, Sheraton Station Square, Radisson Hotel Pittsburgh Green Tree and earlier in his career at the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel. He also previously served as Director of Food and Beverage at the Omni Jacksonville in Florida.
Named Pittsburgh's Top Luxury Hotel for 2008 by TripAdvisor.com, the Renaissance Pittsburgh Hotel features 300 deluxe guest rooms and suites and 10,000 square feet of event space.

Watson studied at Johnson and Wales University School of Culinary Arts in Providence, Rhode Island, and West Chester University in Pennsylvania. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and Marine Corps Reserve.
He lives in Carnegie, Pa. with his wife Christa and daughters Lucy and Molly.
