. March 25, 2009

MARCH 24, 2009 - At 8.30pm on March 28, the lights will go out on Holiday Inn Melaka, as everyone joins Earth Hour's global call for action on climate change.

Holiday Inn Melaka General Manager, Mr. Christoph Voegeli supports Earth Hour's global call for action on climate change.

"Climate Change is a growing international crisis no country can afford to overlook. Global warming negatively impacts the environment as well as the health and livelihoods of people worldwide." he said

"United together, we will make a difference. We are pleased to offer our support of Earth Hour and are encouraged by the World Wildlife Fund's sustainability initiatives. We have placed posters, e-mail banners, and letters to our employees plus a video presentation in our TV screen located in the lobby to offer support." added Christoph Voegeli.

"All lights including our neon signage will be out for an hour on that night. Our employees are briefed and will be ever ready to assist our guests if they choose to vote this effort. Candles will be lighted up in our food and beverage outlets and lobby for the convenience of our guests".

"In celebration of our winning ways, this is a great example being generated by Earth Hour, with nations, cultures, races and religions coming together to make possibly the most powerful statement on climate change the world has ever witnessed." said Mr Voegeli.

Holiday Inn Melaka votes Earth Hour as each one of us has a stake in the future of our planet and must do whatever we can to operate in ways that don't deplete our world's limited natural resources.
