Aquis Acquires Four More Hotels

APRIL 8, 2009 - Upmarket Eastern Mediterranean hotel group, Aquis Hotels and Resorts, has acquired four more hotels, three in Crete and one in Corfu, taking its portfolio to eight properties.

Details of the new hotels:

---|Aquis Zorbas Village in Anissaras, Crete is a four-star family-friendly property and will open on 24 April 2009. It is a low-rise complex with 219 bungalows and two luxury suites and boasts colourful landscaped gardens and a beachfront location.

---|Aquis Corfu Holiday Palace is a five-star hotel located in Kanoni, Corfu open year-round. This is one of the first luxury hotels in Corfu, and is the only one in the island with a direct view of Mouse Island. It is very close to Corfu town and also nearby the island's major archaeological sites offering the perfect base for those seeking to explore the island. It has 256 rooms, most with a seaview, has an easily accessible private beach, the only casino in the island, health club and bowling alley.

---|Aquis Bella Beach, ex- Bella Maris with 312 rooms and suites, is a five-star hotel in Anissaras, Crete and opens on 2 May 2009. It's situated on a beautiful stretch of the Cretan sea in the centre of the northern coast of Crete. The hotel has been built with local brick and marble and exudes calm and tranquillity and operates on a half-board basis.

---|Aquis Silva Beach, ex- Silva Maris is a four-star hotel in Hersonissos, Crete and opens on 24 April 2009. This is an attractive beach-front hotel built in the style of a traditional Cretan village. It has beautifully proportioned gardens to enhance and embellish the natural low stone walls and small piazzas. This is an all-inclusive resort hotel, an ideal destination for families and couples looking for a relaxing holiday

---|Aquis Gordios Beach Hotel is a four-star adults-only property in Agios Gordios village, only 18km from Corfu town. It opens 16 April 2009.

---|Aquis Pelekas Beach Hotel is a five-star property in Pelekas Beach, only 15km from Corfu town opens on 15 April 2009.

---|Aquis Sandy Beach Resort, four-star family hotel will open its doors 27 April 2009.

---|Aquis Marine Resort and Waterpark, four-star the only waterpark hotel in Kos island opens its doors on the 6 May.

Marketing manager Rania Deimezi said: "We're very excited about the new additions on our portfolio and are delighted that the renovations have gone so smoothly and finished ahead of schedule."

Backed by international funds and capital investments, the company was created last summer with the objective to develop a chain of upmarket hotels within Greece, Cyprus, Turkey and Egypt.

Deimezi said: "In comparison with the western Mediterranean - especially Spain - which already has developed hotel chains, hotel groups and franchise brands opportunities in the last decade, the eastern Mediterranean has been left behind in comparison, this is why we launched Aquis Hotels and Resorts."
