LONDON, UK, November 8, 2005. The Zambia National Tourist Board has a bigger presence than ever at this year's WTM. Visitor figures exceeded half a million in 2002 and are projected to reach 690,000 by 2006. European visitor arrivals have doubled in the last five years.

Guest speakers, The Honourable K Pande, Minister of Tourism, Environment and Natural Resources and Lyn Hughes, editor of Wanderlust Magazine, will talk on the subject of tourism in Zambia. The presentation will also include the screening of a recent interview with Sir Ranulph Fiennes on the Livingstone Memorial Expedition down the Zambezi River that he will take part in this November.

Highlights of 2005
Celebrating a 150th Anniversary
November 16th marks the 150th anniversary of Dr David Livingstone's first sighting of Victoria Falls. A 5 day expedition lead by Sir Ranulph Fiennes in dugout canoes will retrace the route undertaken by Livingstone, arriving on the edge of the Falls on the same date 150 years later. www.vicfallsexpedition.com.
And a 100th Anniversary
Livingstone town celebrates its 100th year this November. The Livingstone Museum has undergone renovation and two statues of David Livingstone will be unveiled during a celebration ceremony attended by dignitaries and special guests from the UK including Deirdre Livingstone and David Livingstone Wilson, living relatives of Dr David Livingstone.

This year Zambia has hosted BBC Holiday and BBC News 24 Fast Track reporting on tourism in Zambia. Broadcast interest demonstrates that Zambia is constantly growing in appeal and bodes well for a busy 2006.
