InterContinental Hotels Group Appoints Carolyn Poole to Director, Group Sales, Canada, Western Regio

ATLANTA, GA, November 15, 2005. InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG) [LON: IHG, NYSE: IHG (ADRs)], the world's largest hotel group by number of rooms, announced today the appointment of Carolyn Poole to director, Group Sales, Canada, Western Region, InterContinental Hotels & Resorts.

In this newly created role, Poole is responsible for group sales in western Canada inclusive of the InterContinental Toronto, InterContinental Toronto Centre and InterContinental Montreal.

A 14-year veteran of the hospitality industry, Ms. Poole most recently worked for Delta Hotels for four years where she served as national account director, growing the U.S. group business more than 40 percent year over year. She also served as regional sales manager for Delta Hotels where she managed all group business from the Pacific Northwest and sales manager for Four Seasons Hotels in Vancouver and Toronto. She began her career in 1991 as a front office receptionist for the King Edward Hotel in Toronto.

Upon her appointment, Poole said, "It's very exciting to be a part of something brand new; my goal is to build the Western region into a top producing market for the InterContinental Hotels & Resorts Canadian portfolio."
