The Choice Hotels Owners Council Elects Officers for 2006
NAPLES, FL, November 17, 2005. The Choice Hotels Owners Council, which represents over 2900+ owners of the Choice brands of Clarion, Comfort Inn, Comfort Suites, MainStay, Quality Inn/Suites and Sleep Inn/Suites, held third election of officers November 9 in Kansas City, MO.
Re-elected to serve a second term in each of the officers were:
President, Gene Ammons, Jr., CHA, a third generation hotelier in Fayetteville, NC and owner of the Quality Inn Ambassador, Sleep Inn of Fayetteville, and Fairfield Inn I-95.
Vice President, Johnny Walker, from Nashville, TN who owns and operates two Comfort Inns in Nashville, a Comfort Inn and a Comfort Inn & Suites in San Antonio, TX as well as two other brands. He also own Johnny Walker Tours, a local sightseeing and vacation tour company in Nashville.
Secretary, Janak Marolia, CHA for Orlando, FL has partnership interest in three Comfort Inns and is in the process of building a new Comfort Suites in Ocala, FL. He also has partnership interest in Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express as well as other brands.
Treasurer, Perry Patel, CHA is from Newark, DE where he currently owns and operates four properties in the Mid-Atlantic Region, two of them being Choice brands.
Past President, Ken Blair, CHA from Taos, NM owns and operates a Comfort Suites and Quality Inn as well as the independent Hotel and Conference Center, the Sagebrush Inn.
The mission of the International Operators Council is "...to represent the Owners and Licensees of Choice Hotels International through a unified voice, protecting the greater interest of its members by providing ideas, advocacy programs, and services.
