MEXICO CITY, November 22, 2005. Andre Gerondeau, executive vice president, Central-North America, Sol Meli'a Hotels & Resorts, announced Kai Lamle has been named as General Manager of Gran Meli'a Mexico Reforma.
"We're very happy to welcome Mr. Lamle to the Sol Meli'a family," said Mr. Gerondaeu. He brings a wealth of knowledge about the hotel business. We are sure his experience will help this hotel in its growth."
Kai Lamle speaks fluent Spanish, as well as other languages including English and German (his native tongue). He studied the hotel business at The Hotel Management School in Germany and studied at Cornell University in New York. He's also acquired great experience having worked in Food and Beverage for hotel chains Intercontinental, Kempinski and Fairmont in cities such as New York, Miami, Toronto and Dubai among others.
Having been away for eight years from the country he loves, Lamle brings to Mexico knowledge of the dynamics, sophistication and competition in Mexico City, giving him an advantage upon establishing strategies for the hotel.
"During the past few years the City has gone through some positive transformations," Lamle said, "especially in the tourist spots of Paseo de la Reforma and 'Centro Historico' (the historic center). This gives our hotel, the Gran Meli'a Mexico Reforma, a great advantage for our guests as it offers great location, accessibility, quality and price, all of which are important factors when choosing a hotel.
