New Adventures for Grenada

. October 14, 2008

GRENADA, December 14, 2005. Tourism Services Limited, the adventure tour company who brought Adventure Jeep Tours and Trailblazers' Mountain Biking to Grenada, is back with a brand new adventure river tubing tour attraction.

A 45-minute drive from the capital city of St. George's through either the scenic hilly interior of the Grand Etang Rainforest Reserve, or along the breathtaking Atlantic east coastline, takes guests to the Balthazar River where they begin their journey. Fed from sources located deep in the island's interior, this river is nestled between the exotic and magnificent tropical rainforest, flora, fauna and history of the Balthazar Estate.

Following an introduction and safety briefing, tour guides accompany tubers through scenic tropical vegetation and wildlife down the refreshing, but swift, river.

Guests are able to stop on the way and briefly enjoy a swim or just catch their breaths. At the end of the trip, guests will have the chance to swim again before enjoying a much deserved native tropical drink or rum punch.

The trip usually lasts 60 to 90 minutes, depending on group size. Trips begin at 9 a.m., 11:30 a.m., and 2 p.m. Tubers must be eight years of age or older and in good physical condition.

Tubes, life vests, and a light refreshment are provided, but guests must bring their own water shoes, sun block and towels. The cost is US$45 ((25 GBP) per person (transfers are not included).
