December RevPAR Growth Continues to Outpace 2004 with Double-Digit Gains
HENDERSONVILLE, TN, December 22, 2005. Overall performance for U.S. hotels in December continued to outpace last year with RevPAR growth showing particularly strong gains, according to figures released by Smith Travel Research.
For the week ending Dec. 17, for example, RevPAR growth was up 18.7%, compared to the same week in 2004. Occupancy, meanwhile, was up 8.4%, year over year, while ADR was up 9.7%.
Among lodging price points, the upper upscale and luxury categories continue to outperform other tiers. For the same week, for example, upper upscale saw RevPAR growth of 24.9%, year over year, while luxury hotels' RevPAR growth was up 20.8%.
