Isle of Capri Responds to Illinois Gaming Board Ruling
CHICAGO, IL, December 22, 2005. Isle of Capri Casinos, Inc. issued the following statement in response to the Illinois Gaming Board's decision to revoke Emerald Casino Inc.'s Illinois gaming license.
"Nothing in the Gaming Board's finding today involves Isle of Capri," said Allan Solomon, executive vice president of Isle of Capri. "We were invited to participate in a fair and open auction process and, unfortunately, two years later we find ourselves caught in the middle of issues that predated our participation in the auction."
"Isle of Capri's financial condition is strong-just as it was at the time of the Rosemont application. And Isle and its officers have one of the best regulatory records in the gaming industry." he said. "We are proud of our financial strength and regulatory history and we compare favorably with gaming companies operating in other jurisdictions and in Illinois."
