New Crowne Plaza Opens in Connecticut
SOUTHBURY, CT, January 24, 2006. A new Crowne Plaza hotel has opened here. The 197-room hotel is owned by Northstar Hotels Group, Inc. and is managed by Northstar Southbury Management, Inc. under a license agreement with a company in the InterContinental Hotels Group.
The Crowne Plaza Southbury is located off Interstate 84 at 1284 Strongtown Rd. It was formerly known as the Hilton Southbury.
By the end of 2006, the hotel will undergo a $2-million renovation that will update guestroom d'ecor and upgrade the lobby, restaurant, pool area, fitness center and building exterior. Sanjeev R. Patel is the general manager of hotel.
There are now four Crowne Plaza hotels with more than 900 guestrooms in the state of Connecticut with the addition of the Crowne Plaza Southbury.
