Comtec Extends Travel Supplier Links
FEBRUARY 3, 2006. Comtec is extending its range of links to travel industry suppliers as part of its strategy to enable agents and operators to support more flexible methods of booking and managing leisure travel.
Having acquired Travelink Systems during mid-2005, Comtec is further developing the Travelink platform, which supports pre-packages, tailor-made holidays, dynamic packages and tour bookings. This includes providing direct XML links to a wide range of beds, flights, car and other ancillary suppliers. In parallel, Comtec has recently signed-up several new distribution agreements with tour operators for distribution via its EasySell retail selling system and WebSell online travel booking solution.
Commenting, Comtec's Product Director Ed Whiting said "Comtec is a truly independent technology supplier. As we're not a travel company in any shape or form we can offer our customers the broadest range and complete freedom of choice in terms of the suppliers connected to their travel distribution systems - and of course we will not compete for their customers".
