Tom Manno Appointed Managing Director of Lansdowne Resort Near DC

HOUSTON, TX, February 2, 2006. Benchmark Hospitality International has announced the appointment of Tom Manno as managing director for Lansdowne Resort, the luxury property located in Lansdowne, Virginia, 30 minutes from Washington, D.C. Sam Haigh, president & chief operating officer of Benchmark, made the announcement.

A veteran hotelier with nearly three decades of exemplary marketing and operational experience, Tom Manno was most recently corporate senior director of sales and operations for Regent International Hotels, where he was responsible for the pre-opening of hotels and resorts in the eastern United States, Europe and Asia. In this role he was active in the re-branding process for Regent's cruise line and hotels worldwide.

Mr. Manno previously served in the leadership role of vice president and general manager for the signature Doral Golf Resort & Spa of Miami, where for several years he led a team that significantly grew revenues each successive year. During this time, Manno also managed the $100 million resort-wide renovation program.

Tom Manno has served as area manager for Westin Innisbrook Resort of Tampa, as general manager for The Ritz-Carlton of St. Louis, and as vice president and managing director of the PGA National Resort in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He was the executive vice president at The Biltmore Hotel Company and its subsidiary, the American Travel Academy, and served as executive director for the Austin Convention & Visitors Bureau.

Mr. Manno launched his career in hospitality serving in a variety of positions of increasing responsibly for Hyatt Hotels in locations from Washington, D.C., to Hawaii, including assistant vice president of sales & marketing.

Tom Manno received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Trenton State College. He has contributed to numerous industry organizations, serving in leadership positions, including president of the Austin Hotel & Motel Association and president of the St. Louis Hotel & Area Hotel Association. He and is family are relocating to Virginia.
