Jan Goessing Appointed GM of Mandarin Oriental Washington, DC
WASHINGTON, DC, February 16, 2006. Wolfgang H"ultner, CEO, Mandarin Oriental Management (USA) Inc., The Americas, has announced the appointment of Jan Goessing as General Manager of Mandarin Oriental, Washington D.C., effective March 6, 2006.
Goessing will join the Washington, D.C. hotel from Kahala Mandarin Oriental, Hawaii, where he spent eight years as General Manager, and successfully repositioned the resort to the ranks of Hawaii's finest. Goessing has been with Mandarin Oriental since 1994, beginning his career as Hotel Manager at Mandarin Oriental, Hong Kong. In 1997, Goessing was appointed General Manager in Jakarta until his transfer to the United States in October of 1998.
During his 26 years of hospitality leadership, and prior to joining Mandarin Oriental, Goessing held senior management positions throughout the United States; in Chicago, Boston and Beverly Hills with the Regent Beverly Wilshire. Goessing has also worked for Intercontinental and Kempinski Hotels in Luxembourg and Germany.
