QUEST 2006
For the first time, design hotels(tm) will be hosting invitation-only events at the ITB, the world's largest tourism fair. On three occasions during the show, the stand will be closed to general traffic to allow for Quest 2006, an opportunity for selected journalists and travel industry professionals to learn about the newest developments and meet personally with some of the most innovative hotels.
With a presentation themed "Directions", Claus Sendlinger, CEO of design hotels AG, will set you on new paths around the globe while exploring current trends and those yet to come. The group's growing portfolio shows that stylistic idioms are branching into very different - yet equally fascinating - directions. Quest 2006 is a way to begin discovering and meet some of the people behind the concepts which range from 'sophisticated elegance' and 'easy living' to 'theatrical entertainment' and 'organic futurism'.
REDEFINING FORM AND FUNCTION
Demonstrating its commitment to design and innovation, the design hotels(tm) group will be showcased with a brand new stand in a brand new location: Hall 9 / Global Village.
Ora-Ito, the young designer who first made headlines as a "brand hacker" with projects like his virtual Gucci House, has created a custom stand which exemplifies his unique view on form and his revolutionary approach to design. Touted as the "Philippe Starck" of the 21st century, Ora-Ito has collaborated with brands including Heineken, adidas, cappellini, artemide, alain mikli and Davidoff.
