Celebration Hotel Welcomes Back Tampa Bay Buccaneers For The Fourth Year In a Row
ORLANDO, FL, June 22, 2005. The AAA Four-Diamond Celebration Hotel is pleased to announce that they will be welcoming back Super Bowl XXXVII Champions, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and their coaching staff for the fourth year in a row! Conducting their 2005 training camp at Disney's Wide World of Sports, the Buccaneers will officially take over the entire 115-room hotel beginning July 25 with players arriving July 28. They will be staying until August 17 and the hotel and restaurant will remain closed to the public until August 21.
"I believe we've got the best training camp situation in the league," claims Coach Jon Gruden during a press conference held at the hotel last year. A sentiment that was also echoed by many players and coaches stating that the Celebration Hotel has become the home away from home for the team.
How does a luxury property prepare for the arrival of an NFL team? "There is an elaborate set of preparations, transforming this upscale and elegant boutique hotel into a comfortable and suitably-equipped training venue, states General Manager Roger Ploum. We will be removing some of the lobby's furniture to make room for a pool table and placing a ping-pong table along with several whirlpool tubs on the back terrace which overlooks the lake. In addition, a few guest rooms and the fitness center will be converted into treatment rooms, coach's offices and meeting venues."
Perhaps the biggest challenge for the hotel is to satisfy the huge appetites of the professional athletes who will be training long hours each day in heat and humidity. Newly appointed Executive Chef DeJuan Roy is ready to take on this challenge. His culinary team will be serving breakfast, lunch, dinner and a late night snack each day in the AAA Four-Diamond Plantation Room restaurant. Chef Roy estimates that they will be feed the team over 3,000 whole eggs, 700 pounds of smoked turkey, 1,000 gallons of milk and 300 gallons of orange juice.
The hotel, reminiscent of a 1900's Florida seaside inn, features 115 luxurious rooms, including six suites, one which was named the "Jon Gruden Suite" after Coach Gruden won "Coach of the Year" at the 2003 ESPY Awards. Each room features luxury linens, pillow-top mattresses, feather pillows, three phones with voice mail and data ports, monogrammed robes, mini-bars, 25" TV's with digital programming, high-speed Internet access and Nintendo. In addition there is also wireless Internet throughout the hotel.
The Celebration Hotel shares the legendary name and refined standards of Richard C. Kessler's hotel collection. The hotel is also a member of Preferred Hotels and Resorts Worldwide. For reservations and additional information, please call (407) 566-6000 or visit www.celebrationhotel.com.
