The Providence Group Offers Training for General Managers

New Service Comes with a Satisfaction Guarantee

. October 14, 2008

DUXBURY, MA, March 22, 2006. The Providence Group of Duxbury, Mass., has formed a new division, GM Training, to assist hotels and resorts in creating skilled managers for their operations. The need for such a service was revealed at the recent Hotel Investment in Atlanta, says Jed C. Heller, president. "The necessity for professional management at all segments has never been more apparent," he says. "In my discussions with hotel and resort executives, they bemoaned the lack of candidates with all the skills needed to be successful as a property's general manager." In addition, many chains don't have the resources to coach and counsel general managers.

Heller says training from The Providence Group will enable good general managers to become great. "As long as candidates are willing to commit to improving performance and follow through on their words, we can take people who may be considered "C" players and make them "A" players."

Heller says the new division is a natural extension of his core business. Hotel operations will enroll one to four general managers for a minimum of four full-day-sessions. In a unique twist, if an owner or operator is not satisfied with the results of the training, the price is free. The training is available to hotels, timeshare resorts and villa rental properties.

Despite his company's other divisions exceeding financial expectations by 10 percent in the first quarter, Heller predicts that the new training division will eventually be the fastest growth area within The Providence Group. "Other people talk performance and results, we guarantee it," he says. "This is a key component of our culture."

Board presidents and hotel and villa owners may contact Heller at (781) 582-8785 or [email protected] to find out more about The Providence Group, Villa Consultants International, and GM Training.
