Orioles Suing City Of Baltimore Over New Hilton
BALTIMORE, MD, March 24, 2006. The Orioles basebal team is suing the city over the construction of the publicly-financed new Hilton Hotel claiming the city has blocked access to the main entrace of the team's home stadium, Camden Yards.
Construction on the 752-room Hilton, which is located adjacent to the convention center, began in January.
The Orioles claim the closure of streets near the main entrance of Camden Yards will force force large numbers of people to walk along narrow streets and through a wood tunnel to access the stadum. The team is seeking an injunction that would force the city to provide access to the stadiums Pratt Street entrance two hours before and after games.
