1,000-Room Sheraton Phoenix Breaks Ground
PHOENIX, AZ, March 29, 2006. Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc. and the City of Phoenix have started construction here on a new 1,000-room, $350 million Sheraton that will be a key part of the $600 million expansion of the Phoenix Convention Center.
Located one block from the new convention center, the 31-story Sheraton Phoenix Downtown Hotel will provide more than 80,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.
The publicly financed hotel is scheduled to open in late 2008. The $350 million project is part of the $600 million expansion project of the Phoenix Convention Center.
