Ibis Continues Expansion In China

. October 14, 2008

CHINA, April 26, 2006. Accor has opened Ibis Qingdao, the third Ibis hotel in China, as its economy hotel brand continues to rapidly expand in key commercial centres around the country.

Ibis Qingdao has 171 guest rooms, the RendezVous Restaurant and one bar to provide all business and leisure travellers with its worldwide reputation of simplicity and international quality. The hotel is only five minutes drive from the city's famed Golden Beach Tourist Spot, five kilometres south to the Xuejia Pier and 76 kilometres from the Airport.

Ibis Qingdao joins Ibis Tianjin and Ibis Chengdu in China, with 3 additional hotels scheduled to open in Wuhan, Wuxi and Zhongshan during 2006. From 2007 the plan is to open at least 10 new Ibis hotels a year to create a network of over 50 hotels around the country.

The existing Ibis hotels in China have preformed so well, at occupancy levels of over 90% since opening the first one in 2004, that Accor has added a new 70 room wing to Ibis Tianjin.

During 2006 Accor signed agreements for 6 Ibis hotels in Sichuan Province, including 3 more in Chengdu plus 3 additional hotels in nearby cities Yi Bing, Ya An and De Yang.
