AH&LA to Debut New Conference in Denver

WASHINGTON, DC, April 28, 2006. The American Hotel and Lodging Association will host its inaugural 2006 Summer Summit, June 27 to 29, at The Brown Palace in Denver, CO. Signature events will include the annual Stars of the Industry Awards and the Lodging Industry Summit. New this year is a Women in Lodging Council's networking event and a Condominium/Vacation Ownership seminar.

The Awards program honors outstanding lodging employees, managers and general managers across the nation. Hotels are also recognized for creative public relations programs.

At the annual Lodging Industry Summit, leading lodging business analysts will offer attendees perspectives and forecasts for the U.S. travel and hotel industries. Participants will analyze current industry performance and provide key sector information to help hoteliers plan strategies.

The presenters include moderator Peter C. Krause, Greenhill & Co.; Consumer behavior: D.K. Shifflet, president/CEO, D.K. Shifflet and Associates; Consumer Trends: John Russell, partner, Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown and Russell; Economic Overview: Bjorn Hanson, group industry leader, hospitality and leisure practice, PricewaterhouseCoopers International; Operating Performance: Mark Lomanno, president, Smith Travel Research; and Development Trends: Pat Ford, president, Lodging Econometrics.
