BOCA RATON, FL, April 18, 2006. LXR Luxury Resorts Co-Presidents Jean-Jacques Pergant and Joseph Berger announce the promotion of Gregory Hauenstein as area managing director for several Central Florida LXR properties, effective immediately.
Hauenstein, who has been the general manager at Buena Vista Palace in the Walt Disney World (R) Resort in Orlando, Fla. since 1998, will remain based at Buena Vista Place and will continue with his on-site managerial duties. In addition, he will assume area responsibility for Cocoa Beach, Fla. and Clearwater, Fla., which includes the 296-room Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront and the 426-room Clearwater Beach Resort that will soon join the LXR collection of hotels.
Buena Vista Palace was previously known as the Wyndham Palace Resort & Spa prior to August 2005, when the property became part of LXR. The 27-acre property is comprised of 1,012 rooms and suites and 100,000 square feet of function space and is located next to the Downtown Disney shopping area. Prior to that, he spent three years as assistant general manager of the Renaissance Orlando Resort adjacent to Sea World. Hauenstein has been in the hospitality industry for 31 years with an emphasis in management his entire career. "Greg has done a wonderful job during his tenure with Buena Vista Palace and we expect him to excel in his new position," says Pergant.
