CAPTIVA ISLAND, FL, April 28, 2006. Resort Managing Director Chris van der Baars announces Jeffrey Lunak as executive chef. Delighting guests with his specialties at Harbourside Bar & Grill, Chef Jeffrey comes from the exclusive Morimoto Restaurant where he worked as executive chef alongside celebrity "Iron Chef," Masaharu Morimoto.

As executive chef at South Seas Island Resort, Chef Jeffrey oversees the culinary programs at the resort as well at its sister properties -- Sundial Beach & Golf Resort and the Inns of Sanibel Island. Chef Jeffrey's menu offerings epitomize standard of quality at South Seas Island Resort. From Kobe Beef Burgers to Jumbo Crab Cakes, Chef Jeffrey offers South Seas Island Resort guests only the most delectable dishes.

After graduating from Le Cordon Bleu Culinary School in 1999, Chef Jeffrey trained under Hidemasa Yamamoto at The Chatham Bars Inn in Cape Cod. After three years of training and a promotion to sous chef, Chef Jeffrey and Yamamoto left Cape Cod together to open all of the dining options at Mandarin Oriental hotel in Washington D.C.

While in Washington D.C. and working as executive sous chef at Mandarin Oriental, Chef Jeffrey developed the decadent menu for the Asian inspired Caf'e MoZU of the hotel and prepared dinners for VIP functions and heads of state that were visiting the hotel. He also conducted training for new chefs at Caf'e MoZU as well as CityZen, the French cuisine option at the hotel.

After working in Washington D.C. for two years, Chef Jeffrey accepted a position with the Starr Restaurant Organization as the Executive Chef of Morimoto, the celebrity "Iron Chef" on The Food Network. While working in the high profile environment at Morimoto, Chef Jeffrey assisted Morimoto in developing the menu for his New York City restaurant and worked with him to develop and test menu items for the "Iron Chef" show before airing on national television.

"Chef Jeffrey adds a new level of quality to the caliber of food and service guests receive when dining at South Seas Island Resort," said van der Baars. "His training and experience are unequalled and South Seas guests enjoy the best dining available in this part of the state."
