Todd Wallace Elected President of CASMA Board of Directors
Sabre Travel Network Director to Lead International Non-Profit Focused on Airline Distribution
SOUTHLAKE, TX, December 13, 2006. Todd Wallace, managing director for airline distribution at Sabre Travel Network, has been elected president of the Computerized Airline Sales and Marketing Association (CASMA), an international travel industry non-profit organization that provides an educational forum for members to address the challenges of airline distribution.
In this volunteer role, Wallace will lead the CASMA Board of Directors for the next two years and will be involved in the planning and execution of two annual conferences that bring together travel distribution and technology leaders from around the world.
"Todd brings a wealth of knowledge and insight about the travel industry into this new position at CASMA. His successful working relationship with airlines, combined with his experience in the travel distribution sector, will help Todd as he works to advance the mission and goals of CASMA," said Hugh Jones, chief operating officer, Sabre Travel Network.
Wallace has worked at Sabre Travel Network, the world's largest and most rewarding marketplace for buying and selling travel, for the past 17 years in a variety of roles within operations, marketing, product development and project management. In his most current role as managing director for airline distribution, Wallace worked with global airlines for the past six years to develop long-term, full-content and parity agreements. He is also a Certified Travel Industry Executive (CTIE) through The Travel Institute.
"I am very pleased that the CASMA membership elected Todd as my successor," said Kimberly Giese, outgoing CASMA president and American Airlines project manager. "He has served on the board of directors for the last several administrations in varying roles of responsibility. This has provided him with a well rounded perspective of the organization and will suit him well in his new leadership role. It has been a pleasure working with Todd and I look forward to seeing a new perspective and continued growth for the organization under Todd's tutelage."
The next CASMA Conference will be hosted at the Sheraton Sand Key in Clearwater, Florida, March 26-28, 2007. Complete details will be available on the CASMA website at www.casma.org
