Marriott Newport News, VA Opens
WASHINGTON, DC, June 21, 2006. Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) announced that the new Newport News Marriott at City Center has officially opened its doors to guests. Ideally situated in the Oyster Point Business Park, the hotel -- located at 740 Town Center Drive -- is the first full-service Marriott in Newport News, Va. The 256-room property features Marriott's new high-tech, high-style room and a specialty seafood restaurant, Rockefeller's. The franchised property is a joint partnership between Armad Hoffler and the Economic Development Authority of the City of Newport News. It will be managed by Crestline Hotels & Resorts.
"The new Marriott guestroom features the latest in technology, style and comfort and we are excited to be among the one of first hotels in the country to be able to provide this to our guests," said Bruce Smith, general manager, Newport News Marriott at City Center.
The style of the new room conveys timeless sophistication that is warm and inviting. The look is clean and crisp with simple forms, straight lines and uncluttered surfaces. A highlight of the new room is the unique "plug and play" technology, provided by Marriott's proprietary high-tech connectivity panel. Guests can simply hook their laptop or other personal entertainment equipment (including an iPod), into a state-of-the-art, 32" LCD HDTV. Guests can even split the screen so they can multi-task or watch TV as they write e- mails simultaneously on the screen. A custom designed pivoting desk and high- back ergonomic chair provide flexibility and comfort, and high-speed Internet access keeps guests connected to their worlds.
All guestrooms feature Marriott's new, more luxurious Revive(R) bedding with plusher mattresses, softer linens and more pillows. Replacing the traditional hotel bedspread is a down comforter nestled inside sheeted duvets, which will be freshly laundered for each new guest. The stylized bedding features 300-thread-count, cotton-rich, white top and fitted bottom sheets and is accented with euro shams, a decorative bed scarf and bolster. Other in- room amenities include Bath & Body Works(R) Energizing Aromatherapy products, coffee maker, iron with ironing board, and cable TV with premium channels.
The Newport News Marriott is ideal for business and social occasions, offering over 25,000 square feet of well appointed redesigned meeting space -- with the 12,000 square-foot Grand Ballroom, 13 flexible breakout rooms and an executive board room located on the 10th floor. Technological capabilities include high-speed Internet access in all meeting rooms and comprehensive audiovisual facilities. A 24-hour business center is also available to meet guests' needs.

Nearby attractions include the Ferguson Center for the Arts, Mariners Museum, The Living Museum and the City Center at Oyster Point, featuring a myriad of shopping destinations and restaurants.
