Carlson Appoints Two to Its Marketing & Communications Teams
Peter Goldreich Named VP of Marketing/Communications; Laurie Bauer is Senior Director of Public Rela
MINNEAPOLIS, MN, June 22, 2006. Carlson Hotels Worldwide-The Americas today announced two new leaders of its Marketing and Communications teams. Peter Goldreich has been named the new vice president of Marketing/Communications; and Laurie Bauer is appointed as the senior director of Public Relations/Communications. Goldreich will report directly to Fredrik Korallus, executive vice president of Revenue Generation for Carlson Hotels Worldwide-The Americas; and Bauer will report to Goldreich. Carlson Hotels Worldwide portfolio of brands includes Regent International Hotels, Radisson Hotels & Resorts(R), Park Plaza(R) Hotels & Resorts, Country Inns & Suites By Carlson sm and Park Inn(R).
"These new leaders bring strong experience and strategic insights, which will be major assets to our marketing and communications efforts, fostering increased revenues and awareness for our hotels," Korallus said.
Peter Goldreich
In his new role, Goldreich is responsible for directing the company's overall marketing and communications efforts in the Americas region. He joins Carlson Hotels with an extensive marketing background including senior marketing positions with Rent-A-Center, Blockbuster Inc., PepsiCo Restaurants International, Marriott Corporation, Citicorp Information Business, Morgan Stanley and General Foods Corporation.
Career accomplishments include managing the positioning and launching of Rent-A-Center in Canada; developing Blockbuster's online marketing campaigns and in-store programs to generate consumer traffic; and leading the brand redevelopment of 600 Kentucky Fried Chicken stores in Australia and New Zealand.
Goldreich earned a Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia University in New York, and graduated from Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.
Laurie Bauer
In this newly created position, Bauer will be responsible for leading the company's public relations and corporate communications initiatives. Bauer has more than 15 years of experience in developing award-winning, strategic internal and external communications programs. Most recently, Bauer led the communications and public relations efforts of Musicland Group Inc. For 13 years, she was an instrumental leader in building Best Buy's communications team. Bauer began her career as a newspaper reporter for Minnesota Suburban Publications.
Bauer is an active member of her community, serving on the Board of Directors for the South St. Paul Educational Foundation, and as a regular guest speaker at senior level public relations courses at the University of Minnesota. She is a member of the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC). She earned her B.A. degree in journalism from the University of Minnesota.
