Don Massagli to Head Up National Consulting Practice at Horwath

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, June 28, 2006. Horwath Hospitality & Leisure, CEO Joel Hiser today announced that hospitality industry veteran Don Massagli has joined the firm as Managing Director for the national consulting practice based in Chicago.

"His connections and experience in the hotel community will be invaluable as the firm continues to grow with the accelerating pace of hotel consulting in the US", Hiser added.

Mr. Massagli is a 35-year veteran of the hospitality industry. He holds a BS in industrial management from San Jose State University and a BS in hotel administration from Cornell University. He started his career with Westin Hotels in operations at their hotels in Houston, Oslo, Norway, and San Francisco. He then moved to the commercial real estate industry where he was General Manager of Operations Services with Gerald D Hines Interests in Houston. He was responsible for the operation of several support groups including a security company and three tenant construction companies. After GDHI, Mr. Massagli joined Kindred & Co. as Senior Vice President of project management for this boutique golf club, spa, dining and conference center development and operations firm.

In 1989, after two years as an independent consultant, he joined Pannell, Kerr, Forester as Director of the Midwest hospitality consulting practice. Assignments in the national hospitality industry with BDO Seidman, Landauer, and PriceWaterhouseCoopers followed through 2001. From 2001 through 2004 Mr. Massagli was one of two senior executives responsible for repositioning the Mobil Travel Guide for an ownership that included Hilton, Marriott, CNL realty and ExxonMobil. Since that time, Mr. Massagli has been actively involved in consulting in the hospitality industry recently taking on the project management responsibilities of the Autobahn Country Club of Joliet, Illinois.

Mr. Massagli is a member of the International Society of Hospitality Consultants and has served in various roles for the Cornell Hotel Society.
