BEIJING, China, June 28, 2006. -Raffles Beijing Hotel takes great pleasure in announcing her auspicious opening today, Tuesday, 27 June 2006, in the capital city of Beijing, China. After nine months of careful refurbishment, she unveiled her restored majesty at precisely 10.45am, witnessed by representatives from Beijing Tourism Group, Colony Capital and Raffles Hotels & Resorts, and cheered by lion dancers. Raffles Beijing Hotel will celebrate its Grand Opening, scheduled in a few months' time, with the pomp and ceremony that befits this elegant iconic landmark hotel.

The local community and industry peers have been eagerly anticipating the opening of the first Raffles hotel in China. The re-debut of Raffles Beijing Hotel has captured the imagination and attention of many.

Established in the 1900s, the hotel has earned a respectable place in Beijing's illustrious history, heralded as the dazzling social contact for Chinese and foreign dignitaries since its earliest heydays almost a century ago.
