Hotel Apartments Boost Abu Dhabi

. October 14, 2008

ABU DHABI, UAE, August 23, 2006. Over 2,082 new hotel apartments are expected to boost the already booming hospitality industry in Abu Dhabi during the next three years.

"The current number of hotel apartments in Abu Dhabi is 3,073 units. Approvals were given for 511 apartments next year, 615 in the following year and 956 in 2009," said Nasser Al Riyami, acting Director of Licensing and Classification at the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.

Al Riyami predicted stronger demand for flexibly furnished, short-term apartments due to the remarkable rise numbers of tourists visiting Abu Dhabi throughout the year.

Meanwhile, ADTA has issued licenses for 15 travel & tourism agencies during the past six months.
