Six Senses Backs Out of Vatulele Agreement
Six Senses and the owners of Vatulele Island Resort, Williams Capital, have agreed to terminate their management agreement.
Vatulele, a prestigious boutique resort located on the Fiji Island of the same name, was in the initial stages of being redeveloped into a Six Senses Hideaway-branded property, having been in the Six Senses portfolio for the past two years.
"Rebranding of the resort was a significant task, and the more we got into it, the more we saw that Vatulele's optimum positioning was that of a wholly independent resort," said Six Senses Chief Concepts Officer, Christopher Oakes. "Six Senses will continue to focus on its more established geographic clusters, which will not include the South Pacific, at this time."
Vatulele Island Resort will be represented for sales and marketing support by Australia-based World Resorts of Distinction.
