Iberostar Reopens Two Riviera Maya Hotels

. June 03, 2009

JUNE 3, 2009 - As a result of the CDC and U.S. Department of State lifting travel alerts to Mexico relating to the H1N1 influenza outbreak, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts announced that the Iberostar Tucan and Iberostar Quetzal hotels reopened on June 1, 2009.

Due to decreased travel to Mexico as a result of the H1N1 Virus, Iberostar Hotels & Resorts had voluntarily chosen to temporarily close some of the hotels in May. Iberostar took this proactive initiative in order to continue maintaining the high level of service that Iberostar is known for and provide guests with a memorable vacation experience.

The Iberostar Paraiso del Mar and Iberostar Paraiso Beach hotels are tentatively scheduled to open at the end of June. During the closures, Iberostar will perform previously scheduled necessary preventive maintenance and upgrades.

Iberostar continues to welcome travelers to select Mexico hotels. The following hotels are open, fully operational and treating guests to Iberostar's world renowned service.

  • Iberostar Paraiso Lindo

  • Iberostar Paraiso Maya

  • Iberostar Grand Hotel Paraiso

  • Iberostar Cozumel

  • Iberostar Tucan

  • Iberostar Quetzal
