Hotel Missoni Announces Two New Hotels

Hotels planned for South Africa and Oman

JUNE 15, 2009 - The Rezidor Hotel Group, the Brussels-based hospitality management company, is pleased to announce the latest developments from Hotel Missoni, the luxury lifestyle hotel brand developed in partnership with the iconic Italian fashion and interiors house. Hotel Missoni Cape Town will debut in South Africa in 2010, followed by Hotel Missoni Jebel Sifah in Oman in 2012.

The announcement of these two new developments immediately succeeds the opening of the brand's debut property, Hotel Missoni Edinburgh, which opened on June 8, 2009, on the Scottish city's Royal Mile. A Hotel Missoni resort property is scheduled to open in Kuwait this fall.

Located in the heart of the city, Hotel Missoni Cape Town will offer 157 rooms, a signature Cucina Missoni restaurant, Bar Missoni, and a rooftop terrace with a cantilevered swimming pool and views of Cape Town's picturesque Table Mountain. The hotel will also offer a full-service spa and small meeting and private dining facilities.

Hotel Missoni Jebel Sifah will be part of a luxury resort community located between the blue waters of the Arabian Gulf and Oman's breath-taking mountains, about 18 miles from the capital, Muscat. Hotel Missoni Jebel Sifah's 250 guestrooms will be complimented by 50 apartments and villas, as well as a private beach, two restaurants, an 11,000-square-foot spa, two tennis courts, meeting rooms and a 4,300-square-foot ballroom. The community will also feature a three-mile beach, marinas, an 18-hole golf course and boutique shopping.

Spearheaded by Hotel Missoni Creative Director, Rosita Missoni, and Rezidor Executive Vice-President of Brands, Gordon McKinnon, Hotel Missoni creates a distinctive blend of fashion, function, form and service that adds up to a new genre of genuinely luxurious, yet accessible hotels.

Through the worldwide license agreement with Missoni, Rezidor's strategy is to grow the Hotel Missoni brand globally. The Hotel Missoni portfolio will see 30 hotels open or under development within 10 years. The initial development focus will be on Europe and the Middle East, but will quickly expand to North America, South America and Asia.
