A Refreshing Escape
JULY 1, 2009 - Between Panama's central mountain range, located between hills and waterfalls, you will find the beauty and fertile region of Volc'an where the Highlands Fair will take place from July 29 until August 2.
Inside this colorful and picturesque setting of beautiful flowers and plentiful vegetation, hundreds of artisans show and sell their handicrafts, as well as cattle breeders and farmers display their highest quality products.
The most beautiful and exotic flowers that grow in the mild weather of our Panamanian highlands ornament this suburbanfestival.
If you love nature and mountains, you can't miss this fair and the opportunity to visit this breathtaking landscape.
You can have the choice of trekking up the Bar'u Volcano, 11,460 ft. above sea level, or taste the most select and juicy strawberries and raspberries from Cerro Punta, or visit the trout farm in Bambito or sample the most delicious coffees from Boquete. Two important nature reserves are also near: The International Park La Amistad and The National Park Volc'an Bar'u, both protecting the immense Panamanian biodiversity.
You can also enjoy pleasant weather all year round, away from the daily rush of the city life.
