Education Important Element of HFTP's Annual Convention & Tradeshow
AUSTIN, TX, USA, July 30, 2009 - From empowering attendees to tackling the hottest industry topics, Hospitality Financial and Technology Professionals' (HFTP(R)) 2009 Annual Convention & Tradeshow offers a vast spectrum of education. This year's education program includes 53 educational opportunities, six more than last year. Along with three general sessions, the education program includes industry-specific, concurrent session tracks - club, hotel, general, technology and leadership unlimited. The 2009 Annual Convention & Tradeshow is September 16 - 19 at the Green Valley Ranch Resort in Las Vegas, Nev.
"Attending the HFTP Annual Convention & Tradeshow is the best opportunity to broaden your scope of the industry, and to gain key insights into the evolution of operational, financial and technological trends, concepts and innovations," said Wayne McLellan, CHAE, 2008 attendee and senior manager of Lodging Finance for RockResorts/Vail Resorts Hospitality.
The concurrent education sessions cover topics like maximizing capital expenditures on a tight budget, marketing in a Web 2.0 world, saving money by going green, providing customer service in an organization and more. The three general sessions, presented each morning of the convention by experienced speakers, are each designed to empower attendees professionally. They cover gaining a competitive advantage, maximizing your time and infusing humor into the work environment.
New this year, bonus sessions have been added to Saturday's schedule, allowing for more education and insight into Microsoft's Office Suite. The three bonus sessions cover tips and tricks for Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook and are held Saturday afternoon after the closing general session. An additional educational opportunity is the behind the scenes tour of the resort. On Wednesday evening of the convention, knowledgeable guides will lead tours through various departments and explain what goes on behind the scenes. Some areas shown will include the spa, banquet kitchen, front desk operations, guest services, housekeeping, in-room dining, Hanks Fine Steakhouse and more. Attendance is extremely limited, so attendees should RSVP to [email protected] as soon as possible.
