Branson Hiltons Promote Bill Tirone to Asst GM
AUGUST 24, 2009 - The Hiltons of Branson announced today that William R. "Bill" Tirone, CMP, has been promoted to Assistant General Manager for the Branson Convention Center, the Hilton Branson Convention Center Hotel and Hilton Promenade at Branson Landing hotel. Since 2005, Mr. Tirone has served as the Director of Sales and Marketing for all three properties.
Mr. Tirone has more than 30 years of meeting planning and hospitality management experience, having served as the Associate Director of Convention and Trade Show Sales for America's Center, one of the largest convention facilities in the Midwest, and as Director of Marketing Strategy for St. Louis Marriott's downtown cluster of four hotels. He has also worked in leadership and management roles for Marriott Hotels and numerous Hyatt Hotels in St. Louis, Florida and Louisville, Kentucky.
Mr. Tirone achieved the designation of Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) in 1999. He is also a member and past president of the St. Louis Area Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, as well as a past Hotel Sales Executive of the Year and Associate Member of the Year for the St. Louis Society of Association Executives. He received his bachelor's degree in Hotel Administration (along with a minor in Marketing) from the University of New Hampshire in 1978.
Hilton Hotels manages and markets the Branson Convention Center for the City of Branson, the Convention Center's owner. The Branson Convention Center offers guests 220,000 gross square feet of flexible, high-tech meeting space. The facility includes two exhibit halls totaling 47,000 square feet, and additional meeting rooms on the second floor. With the capacity to accommodate up to 4,500 attendees at a time, the Branson Convention Center is an exciting and powerful addition to an area that already attracts more than eight million visitors a year.
