GWINNETT COUNTY, GA, September 4, 2009 - Cricket Elliott, Gwinnett Convention and Visitors Bureau (GCVB) Tour and Travel Sales Manager, has been named Associate of the Year for South Carolina Motorcoach Association. Elliott received the honor at last week's South Carolina Motorcoach Association (MOASC) Annual Meeting in Gwinnett.

"The huge success of the August 24-27 Annual Meeting is testimony to Cricket's outstanding efforts and how much she has been involved over the past year," explains Linda Morris, Executive Director of the South Carolina Motorcoach Association. "Cricket made it her mission to be sure that the 2009 Annual Meeting was the best yet," says Morris.

Each year the Associate of the Year Award is voted on by all of the Association's Tour Operators. The award is given to the member with the most professional representation and quality service.

"The Associate of the Year Award is presented to the associate who has best represented their destination, made the most effort to follow up with contacts made and provided the most quality service to operators as they plan for group travel," stated Walter Bryant, MCASC President.

"I'm so honored to be named Associate of the Year. I did not expect to be recognized at the meeting last week and it was a total surprise. I worked hard all year helping to plan the Annual Meeting. I wanted to make Gwinnett stand out amongst other Georgia destinations," says Elliott.

The South Carolina Motorcoach Association allows tour & travel companies to stay updated on legislative issues affecting the industry and to network with attractions, hotels and other industry related businesses.
