Gala for Animal Lovers and Their Canine Companions

. September 28, 2009

The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester will be the setting for hundreds of animal lovers and their canine companions as they gather for the SPCA of Westchester's Seventh Annual "Top Hat & Cocktails" Benefit Gala on Friday, October 30th from 7 to 9:30 pm.

Both two-legged and four-legged guests will step out in style to support the SPCA's many life-saving animal welfare programs and enjoy an evening of casual elegance, friendship and fun. Furry friends and their people are invited to show up in their finest Halloween couture, if they choose, and get noticed while enjoying a snack at the Canine Ice Cream Bar.

This year's event will feature a scrumptious selection of hors d'oeuvre and cocktails, with gourmet dog treats for everyone's pampered pooch. There will also be a silent auction and musical entertainment provided by members of the Saw Mill Summer Theatre Group with platinum-selling artist Dave Bickler of Survivor. Maria Milito of Q104.3, a popular DJ and passionate animal lover, will host the evening's festivities.

"We are so excited to be hosting the SPCA's annual gala, which has become a tradition here in Westchester, " said Jacqueline Sanders, General Manager, The Ritz-Carlton, Westchester. "We wish them every success in receiving the funding they need to continue their important work of sheltering and protecting animals throughout the county."

Past attendees and supporters of Top Hat & Cocktails include Martha Stewart and her dogs Francesca and Sharky, Emmy-winning CBS anchor Mario Bosquez, actress Stockard Channing, Paul Shaffer of the Late Show with David Letterman, Joe Rao of News12 Westchester and Catherine Michaels of 100.7 WHUD.

This year, the SPCA will honor Susan Maounis and Lisa Wysocki of Greenwich, Connecticut for their compassionate rescue of animals from high-kill shelters and puppy mills over the past two years. Maounis and Wysocki have worked together with the SPCA of Westchester to transport over 400 puppies and dogs from the south to adoption events in Westchester County where they have found loving, forever homes. Tickets for Top Hat & Cocktails start at $150. For more information or tickets, please contact Lisa Bonanno at 914-941-2896 x 22 or at [email protected].
