Choice Opens 35 New Hotels in October

November 11, 2009 - Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) continues to grow with the announcement of 35 newly-opened franchised properties during the month of October. The openings include hotels in 17 states, including six Hawaiian properties, and five countries, adding more than 3,700 rooms to the company's existing 485,000-plus rooms. Select properties that opened in October include:

Outrigger Ohana Waikiki East, an Ascend Collection hotel - Honolulu-Oahu, Hawaii

As one of six new Outrigger Ascend Collection hotels in Hawaii, the Ohana Waikiki East hotel features the individual charm and unique amenities of an independent boutique hotel but with all the added benefits of a large hotel company like Choice such as online reservations, rewards program and more. The smoke-free hotel offers a fitness center, outdoor pool and whirlpool/hot tub, poolside bar, restaurant, barber and beauty shop and gift shop, while its 441 guestrooms feature in-room safes, refrigerators and free high-speed Internet access. Select guestrooms also offer kitchen facilities, including microwaves, and balconies.

Comfort Inn - Houston, Texas
This 100-percent smoke free, pet-friendly hotel, which also “supports green practices,” features an outdoor pool and whirlpool/hot tub, free full breakfast, business center and meeting facilities. Guestrooms offer free high-speed Internet access, coffee makers, microwaves and refrigerators.
Sleep Inn & Suites - Bogart, Ga.
This newly-constructed hotel offers an indoor whirlpool/hot tub, business center, exercise room and free wireless high-speed Internet access. Guestrooms and suites feature flat screen/plasma TVs, coffee makers, microwaves and refrigerators. Select suites also feature in-room hot tubs.
Comfort Hotel - Hamamatsu City, Japan
Located minutes from many shopping centers, retailers and restaurants, the Comfort Hotel Hamamatsu offers free continental breakfast, news stand, and guest laundry facilities. Guestrooms feature free high-speed Internet access, and hair dryers.
