. October 14, 2008

MINNEAPOLIS, MN, August 5, 2005. The Forest County Band Potawatomi Nation have broken ground on the expansion and replacement of its Northern Lights Bingo and Casino in Carter, Wis. KKE Architects, Inc. designed the Tribe's new gaming facility and banquet addition located 80 miles north of Green Bay.

Estimated at $15.5 million, the 60,000-square-foot casino will feature approximately 500 slot machines and 20 table games, bingo hall, lounge, expanded kitchen and banquet facilities, plus an enclosed walkway connecting the gaming floor with the adjacent 100-room Indian Springs Lodge. The current casino will remain operational throughout construction, which is expected to be completed in May 2006.

Leading the gaming facility's design and KKE's hospitality/recreation/ entertainment business unit, principal Quin Scott, AIA, notes that the architectural team focused on creating a space that not only conveys an inviting, northern lodge atmosphere, but also honors the Tribe's history and the rich resources found in the environment.

Exposed trusses, a large stone fireplace, stone-based columns, leaf patterns and a natural palette of colors and textures communicate this vision. These elements are further enhanced by colorful light displays adorning trusses and a laser-cut soffit depicting the Northern Lights phenomenon.

"We look forward to helping expand on the Potawatomi's vision for its future as a gaming entertainment destination," adds Scott.
