Hotel Provides Accommodations for Community Organization Helping Children and Their Families
NEWARK, NJ (December 7, 2009) - The Newark Liberty International Airport Marriott recently provided a home away from home for Joey Pavia and his mother Dina Batista while Joey was getting a bedroom makeover from Healing Spaces, a non-profit organization that turns the rooms of critically ill children into their "dream" space so they have a healing environment in which to recover from the stress of hospitalizations.
According to Mr. Pat Strocchia, Director of Sales & Marketing for the hotel, "It was wonderful to welcome Joey and Dina at the Newark Liberty Airport Marriott and provide them with a place to relax and enjoy the hotel's amenities and facilities while Healing Spaces was working their magic on Joey's bedroom. We were thrilled to do our part in supporting an organization that has such a positive impact on the spirit of the children and their families."
For 17-year-old Joey, who was diagnosed with testicular cancer, and his mother, staying at the hotel made the entire makeover experience even more memorable. Dina said, "We were very impressed and enjoyed every minute of our stay. From the moment we stepped into the lobby we felt very welcomed and at home.
