Secrets Celebrates Grand Openings of Jamaica Properties

May 14, 2010 - Secrets Resorts & Spas, the award-winning resort brand offering Unlimited-Luxury® vacations for adults-only, celebrated the official unveiling of Secrets St. James and Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay, in conjunction with the 2010 JAPEX (Jamaica Product Exchange) conference.

Jamaican government and tourism officials, dignitaries, special guests, owners and media were on-site for an evening of cocktails, dinner and live entertainment, and were joined by attendees of the JAPEX conference at 8:00 PM for the official ribbon cutting on the resorts' Promenade.

To-date, the two-resort $180 million project has infused $100 million into the local Jamaican economy and created 1,500 jobs during construction with an additional 950 jobs created for resort operations by the end of 2010. Within the first year, the two properties are projected to receive over 52,000 guests.

Guests of the two new Secrets Resorts & Spas will have the freedom to explore each property as they please. Secrets St. James Montego Bay honors Jamaica's history with stunning British Colonial-style architecture and elegant decor in warm tones with dark wood accents, while Secrets Wild Orchid Montego Bay is reflective of the cultural roots and tropical beauty of Jamaica taking inspiration from the island surroundings with its warm neutral tones and unique indigenous art.

Each resort features 350 suites with in-room amenities that include oversized four-poster beds, full entertainment systems complete with LCD flat-screen televisions and CD/DVD players, Jacuzzis for two, private furnished balconies, luxurious bath amenities, and Secrets' signature discreet 24-hour room service. Additional property amenities include:

• Eight gourmet á la carte dining options and one international buffet
• Nine chic bars and lounges including swim-up

Within minutes of the resorts, guests can also take pleasure in a plethora of scenic wonders such as Montego Bay's famous Rose Hall Great House, The Hip Strip and The Doctor's Cave Beach Club; and five renowned championship golf courses including the White Witch, Half Moon, Tryall, Three Palms Ocean Course at Wyndham Rose Hall and Cinnamon Hill.

Secrets Resorts & Spas currently has three resorts in Mexico's Riviera Maya region, one in Cap Cana, Dominican Republic, and is slated to open additional properties in Huatulco and Puerto Vallarta, Mexico by the end of 2011.
