Newport News, VA - June 16, 2010 - Mumford Company was pleased to once again represent affiliates of Allen Management in the sale of the Econo Lodge of Hampton, Virginia to a local investor group.
This is the 4th hotel that Mumford has brokered on behalf of Allen Management affiliates in recent years. The purchasers plan to operate the hotel independent of the Econo Lodge franchise and leverage their "hands on" management capabilities to improve the business levels at the property.
David Mumford and Brian McCutcheon with the firm's Newport News, Virginia office arranged the transaction. This is Brian's first closing since being promoted, in recent months, to Sales Associate.
The 72 room property is located at the area's premier lodging interchange, with easy access to Interstate 64. Numerous local military installations as well as the Hampton Coliseum and Hampton Roads Convention Center provide demand generators for the hotel.
